Poor Jesse. I did happen to see that (my work has a Twitter that I'm supposed to use once in awhile...). I sympathize with him, because these people slandering him are just absurdly misinformed and behave insanely, but the solution is to just... log off! Truly! It sucks to feel like you're not "defending yourself," but I feel like it would be the only way to maintain my sanity. Those Twidiots are never going to change their minds, even if "proving them wrong" with data & stats feels temporarily good.
There's an episode of The West Wing where Josh starts interacting with some of his online followers, and Donna tells him not to engage, but he just can't keep from defending himself and of course lives to regret it. Or something like that. I didn't see yesterday's kerfuffle, but it sounds comparable.
Yes, sanity is the word. Or rather, that old definition of insanity. Eventually heโll realise that tackling the same old lies in the same honest way is never going to achieve anything.๏ฟผ
Just check Jesseโs Twitter feed from yesterday. He was quite active. Someone published an article with a bunch of unverified accusations without asking him for comment.
Massachusetts is insanely beautiful- the drive from Pittsburgh to Boston is gorgeous. I think a lot of people take the beauty of that part of the USA for granted.
Nothing is as perfect as Michigan, of course, but Iโm a fan.
Iโd like to pop over to chronicle a little thought that popped up as I read this entry, which is simply that there is no way Katie used the phrase โtasty content.โ If I am wrong about that, then all I know is in question. Also, Katie, I am moving from Portland (b/c of all the things that come to mind) to Puget Sound area today and will be keeping an eye out for Moose.
It would be really hard to choose. My favorites include Teeth Like God's Shoeshine, Karma's Payment, Polar Opposites, Black Cadillacs, and... man, there are a lot.
I wonder how early we should arrive if we do have reservations. I will probably get there around 5:30, because my pathological fear of being late means that I am usually way too early for everything.
So Blocked and Unrecorded this week... I don't know how to do my long walks without episodes.
Butโฆ butโฆ weโve been so patient and well behaved ๐ฅบ
I was really hoping that we would hear Jesseโs rant about the hit piece kerfuffle on Twitter yesterday ๏ฟผ

I love that, that episode is based on Sorkinโs own experience on the Television w/o Pityโs forums.
(Full disclosure: Iโm a WW freak)
Yeah, I think I remember knowing that at the time (20 years ago!?).
Right? God 20 yrs agoโฆour WW memories are nearly old enough to buy boozeโฆ

Any details?

It was grim, I kept ๏ฟผwishing he would walk away from it.
I love that picture!

( opinion no one asked for, per usual)
The northeast is seriously underrated! Plus we have plenty of water & almost zero natural disasters. Very livable!
Looking forward to the UK tour ๐ค
Jordan Peterson sells out the Hammersmith Apollo. Based on the primo comments alone I reckon they could go for Wembley Arena.

Say hi to the orcas for me when you are there
Welcome to the PS, Agnieszka!
Primos, Primos, PRIMOS!
Iโm not mad, Iโm just disappointed
Ahem..
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE TWO MODEST MOUSE SONGS !??!!
(Such good music taste)
Sorry that was a bit needy.
It would be really hard to choose. My favorites include Teeth Like God's Shoeshine, Karma's Payment, Polar Opposites, Black Cadillacs, and... man, there are a lot.
So many, Iโd punish everyone with a Modest Mouse education if I could.
They basically occupy a genre to themselves.
Mean and funny podcast update.
For Primos, could livestream part of the driving.
For the NYC show, they don't charge for tickets ahead of time, you pay when you show up. Standing in line basically gets you the seat of a no-show.
I wonder how early we should arrive if we do have reservations. I will probably get there around 5:30, because my pathological fear of being late means that I am usually way too early for everything.
I suggest you get there around 6:30 that way they give your ticket away to me :)
Great idea!
Unacceptable ;)
Tough but fair

Jesse has a nice takedown of one particular study of puberty blockers and hormones:
