You Can Now Listen To Premium Episodes Of Blocked And Reported On Spotify
Despite my best efforts
Recently I was tasked (by my taskmaster) with setting up Substack’s most exciting new feature: integration with Spotify. In theory, this allows BARPod subscribers, at long last, to enjoy their premium feeds on one of the top audio apps in the world. Then I managed to screw a bunch of things up. First, my screwup unlocked every episode for everyone, which was bad, then people were unable to access the premium feeds, which was also bad. (I don’t want to point fingers but it feels like Katie wasn’t supervising me properly.)
Now I have finally succeeded in getting Substack and Spotify to mate, as far as BARPod is concerned. (Thank you to the Spotify/Substack folks1 who helped.) The upshot is that if you are a premium subscriber, you now have access to a Spotify podcast called “Blocked and Reported | Premium.” All your premium goodies will pop up there: both early, ad-free weekly episodes and premium ones.
Here are the directions for setting this up. It’s a slightly annoying process but it’s a one-time thing, and then you should be good to go forever.
Thanks, and enjoy! If you’re not a premium subscriber what better excuse to finally become one?
(Image: I already had this one downloaded from Getty for my newsletter, so I’m recycling.)
I initially wrote ‘fluffers’ but subsequently realized this was a dumb and lowbrow joke that might turn people off. Then I decided that since it was funny (to me), I should at least give it a footnote, since only perverts click on footnotes anyway.
"..since only perverts click on footnotes anyway"
PERVERT FOR FOOTNOTES t-shirt, now available in the merch store (which according to Katie we should avoid like the plague.)
Need to bring Trace on the pod again to explain the very un-Furry-like anti-dog takes he’s been posting on Twitter.
